Born and raised in Southern Maryland, Melissa is a young professional with a bright future. After completing her associate’s degree in business administration at CSM in 2000, she continued her higher education by transferring her credits to the University of Maryland where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in information systems management.
Melissa is back at CSM to complete training required for her current job as an Information Assurance Officer for NAVAIR’s Aircraft Simulation Division.“Having quality and timely training offered locally not only saves my employer money,” Melissa said, “but also reduces the amount of time I spend traveling.”
Department of Defense Directive 8570.1 requires that all government employees and contractors who work in any of the six levels of information assurance must complete required training. CSM offers at least one approved training course for each of the six levels and serves as the only Pearson Vue Testing Center in Southern Maryland.
