Brandon Rosier
CSM Information Technology Services Graduate
Brandon Rosier became fascinated with computers when his mom purchased a no-frills, second-hand PC eight years ago. He learned how to upgrade the system, explored different software programs, and spent many hours doing internet research. Upon completing high school, Brandon surfed right on over to the College of Southern Maryland for an associate’s degree in Information Services Technology.
“CSM is a nice place. Everyone has a positive attitude towards learning and the faculty is really there to help you.” Brandon originally attended the community college because it was local and a great value for his higher education plans. He feels that his transition from a high school curriculum to taking advanced college-level courses was easier because he recognized so many students from the tri-county area.
Working as a student assistant at the college’s Help Desk allowed Brandon to apply his studies into real work experience. “Handling daily IT challenges demonstrated to me that I function well under pressure and helped me decide that I wanted to continue pursuing my education in this field.”
By joining the dual-alliance program which allowed all of his credits to transfer to a four-year university, Brandon went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in applied science at the University of Maryland University College.
Brandon is now employed full-time as a technology specialist with CSM’s Information Technology Services. He enjoys providing technical support for WebCT students, and providing IT guidance for students, faculty and staff.
